According to JSA's another announcement of September 26, the venue of the 1st game of the second Ricoh Cup Joryu Ouza-sen will be changed from Shanghai to Tokyo because the organizers and JSA considers the postponement of the bi-governmental ceremony, scheduled to be held in Beijing on September 27, to celebrate 40 years has passed since normalizing diplomatic relations between Japan and China. The date of the 1st game will be one day earlier to October 20 accompanying this change than previously announced. It will be held at Tokyo Shogi Kaikan in Sendagaya.

According to the JSA's announcement of October 4, Habu Yoshiharu has paralleled the late Oyama Yasuharu's record of the number of holding a single major title by beating Watanabe Akira in the 60th Ouza-sen to come back to that title for twenty terms. The late Oyama has hold twenty terms of Osho which is the top in this field.

Habu extended his terms of holding major titles up to 83 times with the recent victory which is the biggest number.

According to the JSA's announcement of October 11,8-dan Hiura Ichiro has won Shogi Honor Award by gaining 600 victories since becoming a professional player, beating 6-dan Sato Shinya at a Oui-sen preliminary game on October 10. He is the forty-fifth player to achieve that figure.

His performance up to October 11 is 600 - 447.

According to the JSA's announcement of October 17, 7-dan Shoshi Kazuharu took part in an international Xiangqi tournament held in Guangzhou, China from September 17 through 21. His performance was 4-5.

He will also fly to Philippines to anticipate the 17th Asian Xiangqi championships to be held from October 23 to 29. In addition, he will go across to China again to compete in an international Xiangqi tournament in Nanning occurring from November 3 through 7.

According to the JSA's announcement of October 23, twenty-six years old Yoshida Masakazu promoted to 5-dan on October 22 due to consecutive class-promotion in Ryuo-sen ranking tournament. He beat 4-dan Oikawa Takuma in a promoter-to-4th-class-deciding match on that day.

Satomi Kana has been qualified to be Queen of Kurashiki Tohka

According to the announcement of November 23 by JSA, Satomi Kana has defended the title of Kurashiki Toka beating Joryu 4-dan Yauchi Rieko on November 23, with the score of 2-0. With this victory, she comes to have hold five terms of Kurashiki Toka in total and has got entitled to be Queen of Kurashiki Tohka.

Kagawa Manao promoted to Joryu sho-dan

According to the JSA's announcement of November 29, Kagawa Manao, who is nineteen years old, got promoted to Joryu shodan on November 28 winning a 39th Universal trophy Joryu Meijini-sen game against Joryu 2-dan Hayamizu Chisa. She will compete in the next term of Joryu Meijini-league with this victory and that is why she got promoted to Joryu-sho-dan.

According to JSA's announcment of December 10, Hayamizu Chisa, 30 years old, has got promoted to Joryu 3-dan since December 7, 2012 beating Joryu Nidan Nakamura Marika. The reason of promotion is accumulating 90 victories after becoming Joryu 2-dan.

According to JSA's announcement of December 10, 2012, Yokoyama Hiroaki, 32 years old, has got promoted to 6-dan since December 7 beating 6-dan Kondo Masakazu. The reason of promotion is accumulating 120 victories after becoming 5-dan.

Here is a sad news. According to the JSA's announcementand other sources, Yonenaga Kunio, President of the JSA, passed away of prostate cancer at the age of 29 in the morning of December 18. He was in Tokyo Women's Medical University Hospital. The wake and funeral will be held as below;

    Wake - 18:30 - 19:30 December 23, 2012
    Funeral - 10:30 - 12:00 December 24, 2012
