Dojos exist in the US too. When I was a kid, I attended a karate dojo. It wasn't called a "karate school." We even called the teacher "Sensei." I don't think using "dojo" would alienate users.
Also, Shogi Club 24 is the name of the site; Shogi Dojo is just the URL. The full name is 将棋倶楽部24 (shougi kurabu 24). I don't think it would be a big deal if we called it 81 Shogi Dojo. I mean, the Shogi Kaikan in Tokyo has a 将棋道場 (shougi doujou).

I also think the word "Arena" is too hostile. Arena is a word used for fighting. Even though we fight on the board, it's a bit different. It's the same reason why the word "opponent" is preferable to "enemy."
